Song

"Fly me to the moon And let me play among the stars"

I had this song running through my head when I drew this doodle a few years ago. Today I had a little fun with in Photoshop adding color and playing with some of the layer effects.

For Illustration Friday's theme "Song."

more images from drawing class

These are both poses from Feb. 1 - 10 minute poses.

charcoal on newsprint, then scanned and colored using Photoshop

I think I'm starting to get my proportions down a little bit better.

I can see improvement from my first class in the middle of January to the image I posted at end of January to this one. Still have many weeks to go.

The X-Presidents

I'm supposed to be trying to sketch more people for my drawing class so today during my government class I did some multi-tasking. While watching a video on presidential power in which former presidents Nixon, Carter and Ford were interviewed, I tried sketching them. Fun huh? I lead an exciting life.

An Excercise in Futility

Here's a 14"x18" painting I just did based on and Illustration Friday I made called Escape. I tried creating a stencil to paint on the image and the word. It didn't quite work the way I planned. Acryllic doesn't really lend itself to stencil. Oh well. It was fun to do.

I'm going to try entering it into a show and if that doesnt' work I'm going to try selling it on Ebay.

Chair

For Illustration Friday.
I was in Barnes & Nobles last week and happened to see both an older gentleman sitting in a chair, reading a magazine and a baby wiggling his legs in his carrier.

Glamour

Well it's already almost Thursday but I've managed to create a little "glamour" for Illustration Friday using Illustrator. I think eyes are glamourous.

On a side note...this happens to be the 100th post in my sketchbook. I think I've created more in the past year than I have in the past 10. It's good to be back.
